The body of 14-year-old Jonathon E. Minard, who had been missing since April 13, has been found.
Carroll County Sheriff Dale Williams announced that Jonathan’s body had been found buried in a shallow grave on Friday.

“At 10:15am on this day April 19, 2019, the body of missing juvenile Jonathon E. Minard was recovered from a farm in Washington Township in Carroll County where he was buried in a shallow grave,” he said in a statement, adding that a full autopsy will be performed by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.
Authorities are expecting the results of the autopsy to take “several weeks” to be released.
Sheriff Williams went on to share that while the investigation into the case continues, no further information will be released at this time.
“The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office will continue to gather evidence until the investigation is complete. We ask that the public and media respect the Minard family’s space and privacy at this time,” the statement continued.

Minard disappeared while helping a 29-year-old man on a farm in New Harrisburg, Ohio, Fox8, the Free Press Standard, and the Canton Repository previously reported. At the time, it was widely reported that the man — who has not been publicly named — is the person of interest.
However, during Friday’s press conference, Sheriff Williams declined to comment on the matter, according to NBC News.
Police confirmed during the press conference that no arrests or charges have been made as of Friday, the outlet reported.

Sheriff Dale Williams previously told local station WKYC that since the investigation began, he has had trouble sleeping.
“We’re talking about a 14 year old, this kid didn’t hurt anybody, he isn’t a boy who gets into a lot of trouble,” Williams said. “It’s something that really works on you.”
Minard’s aunt Jo Hepner also gave an emotional interview to WKYC and pleaded for her nephew’s safe return.
“If you seriously know where he’s at and what has happened to him, please tell us. We’re begging you, I mean, this is our last hope,” Hepner said. “Just help us please find him. That’s all I’m asking, tell us where he is.”
