The Super Rugby regular season has come to an end with the Waratahs and Brumbies securing a place in the finals.
Key Performers
Israel Folau – Coming off a hat-trick of tries against the Lions last week, Folau continued his impressive form with a standout performance against the Reds. Notching up over 100 run metres and five tackle busts for the game, his match was highlighted by a barnstorming run to set up Jacques Potgieter for a try.
Dave Dennis – The Waratahs skipper led from the front to help his side achieve first place on the Australian conference ladder. Dennis’ work-rate was strong and he was rewarded with his first Super Rugby try of the season, to secure a bonus point for the men from New South Wales. After missing the Waratahs maiden Super Rugby title with an ACL injury, Dennis will be eager to lead his side to back-to-back titles.
Sean McMahon – Amazingly Sean McMahon is still just 20 years of age and the 100kg flanker continues to star for the Melbourne Rebels. Although the Rebels suffered their ninth loss of the season, McMahon was a standout for the home side. His work-rate around the ground was impressive, he continues to be a threat in defence and has improved his line-out work to be another option for the Rebels in the air.
