To give the selling season a final push, over 200 UK brands are heading to Paris for the trade fairs. Supported by the export team at the UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT), they put a map together that pinpoints who is showing where. It offers international buyers and media a clear overview in which of exhibition venues and showrooms in the French capital the brands are showing.
The UKFT Business Centre, located for the first time inside the Tranoï Carrousel du Louvre exhibition venue will provide additional in depth information about the British collections on show to help buyers with their decision-making. Both the map, and a library of pictures from exhibitors, can be found at their website.

While most womenswear fashion categories are represented in Paris, there is strong accessories group offering everything from the quirky to the more classic. Showing for the first time in Paris (at the Vendôme Luxury Trade Show Park Hyatt) is Samia Kamar who makes luxury handbags in exotic skins and leather; also at this venue is well-established Lulu Guinness.
“Britain exported around £3bn worth of fashion last year and we are working closely with companies to try and beat this figure this year. While the market is tough, currency fluctuations are in our favour particularly with a strong Euro, making our products even more tempting for buyers in the Eurozone, our largest export region,” says Paul Alger, deputy director of UKFT.
