The European Union’s General Court today dismissed requests by footwear manufacturers to remove anti-dumping duties on leather footwear imported from China and Vietnam.

The requests dismissed by the court were by Brosmann Footwear, Zhejiang Aokang Shoes, Wenzhou Taima Shoes, Sun Sang Kong Yuen Shoes Factory and Foshan City Nanhai Golden Step Industrial. The court also dimissed a request for annulment in December 2009.

The court did not accept various claims made by the footwear manufacturers including that the European Commission had made an incorrect analysis of the damage suffered by the EU’s footwear industry because of imports from China and Vietnam.
