Major News from Raw – Roman Reigns captured the WWE World Title from Sheamus in the main event of Raw.
Going into Raw, the question was what kind of “firing” storyline would play out after Reigns beat down Triple H at the end of the TLC PPV on Sunday night.
It turned into Vince McMahon returning to Raw TV, threatening to fire Reigns, but being convinced by Sheamus to defend the title. But, with the added stipulation that Reigns would be fired if he did not win the WWE Title.
In the main event, Reigns thwarted McMahon, Sheamus, and League of Nations members Alberto Del Rio and Rusev, then kicked out of finishers before hitting a big spear on Sheamus to win the WWE Title.
Without a Money in the Bank briefcase in the mix, Reigns ended the show as WWE champion.
