Acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin has been a thorn in Braun Strowman’s side for a while now. It seemed like a guarantee that the two of them would settle their differences at WWE’s TLC pay-per-view this December. However, an elbow injury to Strowman has reportedly led to WWE changing their plans in order to keep Strowman off of the event. Despite this, PWInsider reports that “The Monster Among Men” is set to return to Raw next Monday night. Strowman is still legitimately injured, so it is not likely that he will be getting physical on Raw, but he will be in the arena in person for the show. On this week’s Raw, Strowman made an appearance in a taped video wherein he updated fans on his condition.
Elias has quickly become one of the most unexpectedly popular acts on all of Monday Night Raw. Despite getting great reactions from the crowds on most weeks and his recent babyface turn, “The Drifter” has never held a title at any point in his WWE career. However, according to WrestleVotes, Elias actually was set to have a run with the Intercontinental Championship earlier this year. Dean Ambrose was always going to turn heel by attacking Seth Rollins, but Ambrose was reportedly originally going to cost Rollins a match against Elias, which would have allowed the songwriter to win the IC strap. Following Roman Reigns’ leukemia suddenly returning, WWE obviously had to make drastic changes to their plans.
Interesting tidbit for those who like this type of thing: prior to all of RAWs creative plans going up in flames last month, the original Ambrose heel turn angle was to see him cost Rollins the IC title. Who was scheduled to win the strap you ask? Elias.

WWE is said to be in the process of signing all of the talent that the company can in time for January 2019. With competition from the usual promotions, as well as the possible launch of All Elite Wrestling heating up, several names from the indies are expected to join WWE very soon. However, one name who is no longer being linked to a WWE contract is Ring of Honor’s Silas Young. Young’s deal with ROH will be expiring at the end of the year, and after he was spotted in the front row of this week’s Raw show, rumors stating that he was WWE-bound began to heat up. Several days later, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has noted that Young was only at Raw this week because he was there with his son, who is a massive fan of the company. Sinclair Broadcasting supposedly just offered Young a new 3-year deal that he is expected to take soon.
