During Monday Night Raw earlier this week, Finn Balor was able to defeat Dolph Ziggler in order to earn himself a spot on the men’s team for the Raw brand in a 5-on-5 elimination match against the SmackDown roster at Survivor Series. Balor now joins Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley on the Raw team, but interestingly enough, Finn was not originally supposed to make the team. According to PWInsider, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle was supposed to be on the team instead of Balor. There is currently no word on why WWE decided to take Kurt Angle out of the match, but Finn Balor should definitely be a suitable replacement for the Olympic gold medalist this Sunday night.
Alexa Bliss has been out of action for a while now, and her in-ring future is even reportedly in jeopardy. Numerous head injuries have kept Bliss from competing for a number of weeks, and although she has continued to appear on Raw in non-wrestling capacities, Bliss still remains inactive with no word on a possible wrestling return date. PWInsider has since reported that WWE is keeping Bliss out for as long as she needs to be for her own health. Although the report mentioned that Bliss does not appear to be retiring from wrestling due to the injuries as of yet, it may still be a very long time before the former Raw Women’s Champion is cleared to compete again. Officials in WWE are said to have “legitimate concern” over Bliss’ future in the business.
After spending months away with very little updates on his wrestling future, more information on the status of WWE Superstar Jason Jordan has only now begun to surface. Jordan himself stated on Twitter that he is optimistic for a return to the ring from his neck injury just a couple of days ago, and he was also revealed to be backstage for this week’s Raw show. Unfortunately, Dave Meltzer has said on Wrestling Observer Radio this week that Jordan’s injury is still very severe. Meltzer pointed out that the amount of time that he has spent away from the ring so far is usually an indicator that his injury is not healing properly and is still very serious. Be sure to stay tuned for the latest updates on Jason Jordan’s in-ring career.
