The original plan for The WWE World Cup Tournament was to have a random mix of matches with RAW & SmackDown LIVE Superstars competing against each other from the opening rounds. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, this idea was abandoned and the brands were separated in order to build towards a RAW vs. SmackDown LIVE guaranteed final as a build up to Survivor Series later in the month.
The finish to The WWE Crown Jewel Universal Title Match between Braun Strowman & Brock Lesnar is expected to finish with a clean winner instead of a screwjob type finish. On a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio Program, it was stated that the deal with Lesnar is that he is either going to be leaving for UFC and lose the match or a lesser chance, he is going to stay with WWE for the short-term and end up winning.
