Three matches are already set for next week’s post-TakeOver episode of NXT.

WWE has announced that Velveteen Dream vs. Roderick Strong will take place on NXT next Wednesday. There will also be an NXT Cruiserweight Championship match with Jordan Devlin defending his title against Lio Rush, and Chelsea Green will face Kayden Carter in a rematch after losing to her on NXT two weeks ago.

After nearly four months away due to a back injury, Velveteen Dream returned last week, saved Tommaso Ciampa from the Undisputed Era, and continued his feud with Strong. Dream revealed that he was wearing tights that said “Call me up Marina” on them and had Dream, Marina Shafir, and Strong and Shafir’s son airbrushed on them.

Strong kicked off tonight’s NXT and cut a promo where he demanded an apology from Velveteen Dream. Strong then defeated Bronson Reed despite a distraction where it seemed like Dream was going to make his entrance. Dream then appeared on the video screen and continued to taunt Strong and his family.

Rush was set up as Devlin’s first challenger by defeating Angel Garza in a number one contender’s match tonight. He countered a Wing Clipper attempt by Garza into a roll-up to get the pin.

Devlin came out to the stage after the match and said he’ll show Rush next week why you never bet against an ace.

In a video that aired tonight, Robert Stone said Green will get her rematch and the Robert Stone Brand will relaunch next week. Green said it would mark the resurgence of NXT’s most captivating superstar.

Next week’s NXT will also feature the fallout from TakeOver: Portland. The Moda Center in Portland, Oregon is hosting the special on Sunday.
