— The Big Show, who has been out of action since last September, is hoping to be re-evaluated by WWE doctors this week in order to be cleared to resume in-ring activities, reports ESPN. Show added that he could technically be ready to go by Monday’s Raw, but cautioned that just because he is healthy and cleared doesn’t mean he will be on TV as that part would ultimately depend on creative plans.

“Hopefully within the next couple of weeks, I will be back in the ring, That’s the main goal. I’m actually going to try and get cleared Sunday, by [WWE’s] doctors; moving around the ring a little bit. I could be back as soon as the Monday Night Raw after SummerSlam, if they have something for me. Just because I’m healthy, doesn’t mean our creative team is healthy for me yet.”

— The Big Show underwent a hip resurfacing surgery – a procedure that serves as an alternative to a total hip replacement – in which a doctor inserts a hollow, mushroom-shaped metal cap over the femur and connects it to the pelvis socket. He revealed that he had been dealing with hip pain for a “number of years” before going under the knife last fall.

— As noted before, Show was recovering well from that surgery but experienced complications including a post-surgical infection that led to a slower recovery and ended up causing him to miss The Greatest Royal Rumble event in April. In any case, Show appears eager to return to the ring and has gone back on previous statements he made suggesting that he wanted to retire from in-ring competition after his contract expired; instead he says he is now more competitive than ever and is in the best shape of his life.
