Hit and Ruin?
July 21, 2008
When Raw rolls into Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, home of the renowned casino, on Monday night, the real crap shot will be whether or not John Cena even shows up.
During the climactic ending of last week’s Raw, Cena was grazed and narrowly escaped when his vicious rival, JBL, nearly crashed into him with a car. Minutes earlier, Cena had tracked down JBL in the parking lot outside of the RBC Center in Raleigh, N.C., after a match, when the former WWE Champion was ambushed by the Longhorn Loudmouth.
The high-speed crash scene was a horrific reminder of the blistering animosity between these two men, who are scheduled to take their rivalry to the ring at The Great American Bash this Sunday. Who will have gained the advantage at the Bash when these bitter enemies meet again on Raw the following night? Will the crash do more to motivate Cena or leave him positively shaken in his Parking Lot Brawl against his long-time nemesis?
In other Raw action, reigning World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk faced down Batista after his match with another menacing giant, Kane, in which he managed to defeat the Big Red Monster. The next hurdle for the Straightedge Superstar arises this Sunday when he faces off against The Animal at The Great American Bash. Which man will be sporting World Heavyweight gold when both return to Raw on Monday night?
In what has become a deeply personal grudge, Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels ratcheted up more than just the rhetoric last Monday night. The two were at each other’s throats trading blows from the opening minutes of Raw. On Sunday, they will have the opportunity to settle their differences once and for all. When the bright lights of Monday Night Raw shine down, who will have gotten the better of his rival? And, what of HBK’s grim promise that the “worst is truly yet to come”?
To find out the answers to these questions and more, tune in live to The Great American Bash this Sunday at 8/7 CT, only on pay-per-view. Plus, catch the fallout the next night live on Raw, Monday at 9/8 CT on USA Network.
