RMC Sport report that Benoît Badiashile is expected to arrive in London today to undergo his medical ahead of his move to Chelsea, with a six-year contract awaiting the French international.

As reported by Get French Football News last week, the Monaco defender had agreed terms with the Blues before the the clubs struck a deal on the fee involved.

Both RMC and L’Équipe indicate that the Principality club will receive €40m including bonuses for their academy product, €2.5m of which being bonuses, a fee which reportedly delayed negotiations somewhat over the last few days. The Londoners are said to have beaten both Manchester United and Barcelona to Badiashile’s signing, with the Frenchman won over by the club’s long-term project.

The centre-back has already racked up 135 appearances in total for the first team, at only 21 years of age, and now makes the move to the Premier League having already been strongly linked with a move to Newcastle last winter.
