Paris Saint-Germain football consultant Luis Campos believes that we have only seen between 40-50% of Kylian Mbappé’s (23) full potential.

At the age of just 23, Mbappé is heading into the Qatar World Cup already as a world champion. At the age of 19, Mbappé scored in the World Cup final in Russia in 2018, and he has since become indispensable at club level. The French international was at the centre of a tug-of-war between Real Madrid and PSG last summer, and Mbappé ultimately opted to stay in Paris, after the intervention of figures such as Emmanuel Macron.

However, Campos, who only joined the reigning Ligue 1 champions this summer, believes that we are yet to see the best of Mbappé, who has already scored 19 goals in just 20 appearances this season. Speaking at a conference organised by the Portuguese league in Porto, Campos said, “Mbappé is not yet at 40 or 50% of his potential, and I tell him that every day. He can still give a lot more because he’s a player that hasn’t yet stopped learning.”

In the conference, transcribed by RMC Sport, Campos continued, “At 16, Mbappé was already developed at every level. Physically, he was very strong and had an understanding of the game worthy of a 26-year-old.”
