According to France Bleu, Kylian Mbappé (23) believes that he made a mistake in renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain this summer, as he looks to leave the club as quickly as possible.

Mbappé reportedly told those close to him: “We made a mistake, me first and foremost.” Despite intense interest from Real Madrid, Mbappé made the decision to remain at Parc des Princes this summer. He could have joined the European champions on a free transfer, with just over a month remaining on his contract by the time he decided to renew.

However, he now looks to leave the club, as he feels “betrayed” by the club. “He was sold a different project, one where he was the sole leader in the team,” a source told France Bleu. Much has been made of Mbappé’s frustration at his playing position. During the international break, he said that he preferred the role in which he featured with the national side, and following the 0-0 draw to Reims, he posted an Instagram story with the caption – #Pivotgang, alluding to the unfavoured role in which he features for Christophe Galtier’s PSG.

He now reportedly believes that he made a mistake in remaining and PSG, and is looking to find the earliest opportunity to depart.
