As reported by Foot Mercato Dinamo Zagreb’s Croatian attacking midfielder, Lovro Majer, is on the verge of joining Rennes.
The 23-year-old has come to an agreement with the Breton side over personal terms and a long term contract, while Rennes and Dinamo are in very advanced negotiations over a fee for the player. RMC had reported last week that the deal was estimated to be around the €15m mark – €12m as an initial fee and €3m in bonuses.
Foot Mercato report that the deal could be completed after the Croatian club’s Champions League qualifier against Sheriff, the first leg of which is tomorrow.
The left footed Majer scored 11 times and added 14 assists for Zagreb last season and had been close to joining Marseille back in February on deadline day. This would be Rennes’ third eight figure deal of the window following defender Loïc Badé’s move from Lens and the arrival of Kamaldeen Sulemana of FC Nordsjælland.
