En Avant Guingamp have this afternoon announce the departure of centre-back Sikou Niakaté, on loan to Ligue 1 outfit Metz for the remainder of the season. The defender joins in a deal which includes a permanent clause.

The 22-year-old has been with Guingamp since 2018, and spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Valenciennes – the club at which the former French youth international first began his career.

Niakaté was a regular fixture in the EAG team last season, making 31 appearances over the course of the club’s Ligue 2 campaign.
