Gianluca di Marzio reports tonight that Napoli have identified Brazilian central defender Gabriel as their summer window priority, with the Italian side willing to spend up to €25m in order to purchase him from Lille.
Napoli are offering the player €2m a year net, with the Brazilian asking for them to make a little more effort to take the proposal to €2.5m a year net. In order for the deal to happen, Napoli need to free up an existing non-EU spot in the squad.
There is potential competition for his services in the form of Everton – the player actually underwent a medical with them in February and the Toffees had reached a deal with Lille, but then pulled out of the transfer, when COVID-19 arrived, but it is not clear whether or not they will come back in again once the Premier League season is over.
