Premier League side Newcastle United, who already held discussions with the player last summer, have recently reinitiated contacts with the entourage of Strasbourg’s 22-year-old midfielder Ibrahima Sissoko, according to L’Équipe.
The player is in a difficult spot with the Alsace club at the moment as he recently lost his place in the starting XI. His representatives met with the Ligue 1 club’s board at the end of November to discuss a possible contract extension for the man tied to the club until 2022, but RCSA have yet to offer him anything.
Unnamed clubs in Germany and Italy have also approached the player about a possible January move.
