The former Nigerian player had been at Chelsea since 2007 and had been promoted to Sporting Director in 2011, who also left his post earlier this year due to a reported falling out over signings with manager Antonio Conte, has arrived at Monaco.

“I believe this is the right choice for me after leaving Chelsea. It’s a wonderful opportunity for me in such a high-quality project” said Emenalo, who played for Nigeria in the 1994 World Cup.

Monaco’s Vice President Vadim Vasilyev went on to say, “His know-how in scouting, as well as the technical skills he developed working in one of the most successful clubs in the world in the past few years, are the main reasons leading us to present him our ambitious challenge.”

During his time with Chelsea, Emenalo bought stars such as N’Golo Kanté, Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard from Lille, as well as winning the UEFA Champions League in 2012, plus three Premier League titles, three FA Cups, the League Cup against Tottenham and the Europa League against Benfica.
