Premier League side Crystal Palace have given up on attempting to sign French central defender Mamadou Sakho on a permanent basis, according to L’Équipe.

The Liverpool man spent the second half of the 2016/17 campaign at the London club, but a combination of him waiting on other potential offers and Liverpool’s high asking price has brought Palace to look at other targets, notably Adil Rami with whom they are in active negotiations.
Rami, whose contract with Sevilla expires in 2018, also has offers from Marseille and Besiktas.
