AS Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour will not feature this weekend in Ligue 1.
It is our understanding that the player will not play for Monaco again until his transfer situation is resolved.
A source close to the player spoke to Le Parisien this morning and had the following to say:
“Aymen will leave. We are just waiting of the right moment.”
AS Monaco want €30m to part with the player, the Principality side not in a position whereby they are forced to sell assets to raise cash.
Juventus, Barcelona, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are among the interested parties.
Contrary to reports, Newcastle are not currently engaged in any meaningful discussions with AS Monaco for the player’s services, having had a bid rejected already by ASM and having been repeatedly told by the player’s entourage that Abdennour is not interested in a move to Tyneside.
