Shortly after Emeline’s delivery, the couple’s midwife “jotted down” a few words about how special the newborn was.

“On the morning you were born, all wisdom from past generations was instilled upon you & your wisdom on future generations will go forth. The world is forever changed because of the one and only you,” Meehleis shared.

“Retrospectively these words couldn’t be more true. While her time here was short, her fierce energy has forever changed the world. She came forth….sacrificing her own life in order to save the lives of many others. Her wisdom will go forward with future generations ….. but I would like us to commit to her current generation now,” she added, urging everybody to hold hands and create “a web of embrace for the Miller family.”

Meehleis added, “Each person…. sitting here in this room…..is the glue of the strong community that not only supports the Miller’s but each and everyone of you will also carry on the spirit of Emmy and the mission of her life.”

We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to it’s fullest everyday. Our family respectfully requests privacy during this painful time.

“This community is just one of the legacy’s that Emmy has left behind. So every time you think of her, let us think of the Miller’s, but also remember, that her spirit now lives within all of us. Allow her the honor of reminding you of your own greatness, your own purpose in this life and your ability to know her love forever. Every time you think of her, smile at someone as they walk past or give a hug to a loved one near by. We are all expressions of Emmy and this community will continue to show the Miller’s that her legacy will go forth on all future generations. #emmyslegacy,” she wrote.

Sharing her appreciation for her friend’s kind words, Morgan commented on the post, writing, “I love you.”

Following Emeline’s death, the Millers, who wed in 2012, welcomed a baby boy named Easton Vaughn Rek Miller on Oct. 5.

The baby is the couple’s third child together and Bode’s fifth. Morgan was about five months along in her pregnancy with Easton at the time of Emeline’s accident.

I haven’t formally introduced our little light, Easton Vaughn Rek Miller. He is so special and has brought so much healing and hope. Our baby Emmy will never be replaced but man, has this little bundle allowed us to feel a small sense of peace and in a weird way, a connection between the heavens and earth #lifeafterdeath

Although Morgan has previously shared photos of her son online, the beach volleyball player decided to “formally” introduce the couple’s baby to the world in February, just two days before he turned 4 months old.

“I haven’t formally introduced our little light, Easton Vaughn Rek Miller,” she wrote, alongside a smiling photo of her baby boy sitting up on the couch. “He is so special and has brought so much healing and hope.”

“Our baby Emmy will never be replaced but man, has this little bundle allowed us to feel a small sense of peace and in a weird way, a connection between the heavens and earth #lifeafterdeath,” she added.
