On the shortlist for the Crystal Palace job, former St Étienne manager Christophe Galtier has received an approach from Qatari side Al Rayyan, with their current manager Michael Laudrup apparently heading to Ajax, according to Foot Mercato.

Galtier’s plan for his next step does not involve a big money move to the Middle East or China, and therefore Al Rayyan are likely to have a difficult time convincing him if the departure of Laudrup is confirmed.
