Real Betis and Southampton are the front runners to sign Monaco striker Valère Germain, reports Estadio Deportivo.
Betis are in the market for another striker following their signing of Roma forward Tonny Sanabria earlier this month, and their new Sporting Director Miguel Torrecilla is a long-term admirer of the 26-year-old Germain.
Torrecilla believes there is value in the French market, having already signed Jonas Martin (Montpellier) and Aïssa Mandi (Reims) this summer.
However, the Seville-paper also suggests that Premier League club Southampton are interested in making a move for Germain.

The Saints new manager, Claude Puel, took the striker on loan to Nice last season where he hit 14 goals in 38 appearances.
Monaco are thought to be open to selling the striker due to the return of Radamel Falcao.
L’Équipe echo these reports, even if the player seems set to stay at Monaco, without any concrete offers considered close to acceptable having been received to date for the former OGC Nice loanee.
