If you want to know the value of someone holding one’s hand, better ask Surya Kiran pilot Wing Commander Vijay Shelke who survived a mid-air crash at the Aero Show in Bengaluru. He was comforted by a youth who held his hand until help arrived. Wing Commander Shelke’s plane collided with another plane flying in ‘missing man formation’ on Tuesday in which the pilot of another plane Wing Commander Sahil Gandhi lost his life while Wing Commander Shelke got injured.

“It’s been three days since the incident, but I still can’t forget that shivering hand which held on to mine so tight that I still feel the grip. Anyone in my place would have probably done what I did, just be there to support him morally. But his desire to meet me and express gratitude shows how nice a human being he is,” Chethan Kumar, the 22-year-old aeronautical engineering student told The New Indian Express.
