The organisers of the award-winning Ealing Half Marathon have issued a last call for early bird entries for the event on Sunday 30th September 2018.

Runners have until 31st January to secure a reduced rate place at West London’s only fully closed road half marathon. It is the last chance to take advantage of the early bird price freeze, with entry currently just £38 for affiliated athletes and £40 for non-affiliated athletes. Prices for this highly popular race then rise to £44-£46 on 1st February.

A big favourite among the running community, the Ealing Half Marathon has received three Gold awards and one Silver award for the UK’s Best Half Marathon at The Running Awards – and has once again reached the shortlist of the 2018 Running Awards, with voting taking place now. Each year the event welcomes thousands of runners from near and far wanting to soak up the famous #EalingFeeling and enjoy the outstanding community support for which it is known.

The Ealing Half Marathon is a UKA-measured course covering a traffic-free route around the leafy streets of West London. The 13.1-mile single lap course takes runners through parts of Central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephens before returning to Lammas Park, where the Race Village is located. Spectator support is superb and there is always a lively atmosphere with many athletes running for charity and first-class entertainment along the way.

The 2018 Ealing Half Marathon will be the seventh edition of the race since it was set up as a legacy to London’s Olympic Games. It will also be the second year in which the Ealing Mini Mile takes place the day before the main event, on Saturday 29th September. The 2018 Mini Mile is open to youngsters aged 6-16 years and 1,500 places are available to get as many children involved as possible.

An exciting new addition for 2018 is a Family Mile, offering children aged five and under the chance to take part in their own race with an adult. Both races promise to be popular with families wanting to enjoy a big community event together, especially those who have an adult taking part in the Half Marathon the following day.

As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, all money raised by the Ealing Half Marathon is ploughed straight back into projects and activities within the local community. Much more than just a single day race, the company engages in year-round activities to promote physical activity in local schools, tackle childhood obesity and set up running clubs at schools and for adults. All those who sign up for the Ealing Half Marathon can do so in the knowledge that they are directly supporting the race’s work in the community and helping to make a difference.

Race Director Sandra Courtney commented, “The 2018 Ealing Half Marathon has already received a fantastic uptake and we would like to remind our running friends that the early bird pricing is only available until the end of January. This is a great chance to enter one of the country’s favourite races at a reduced price and know that you have a first-class to look forward to in the autumn! The 2018 race is set to be the biggest and best yet, and as always all money raised will support our commitment within the community to make sport and fitness available to all.”

The Headline Charities for the 2018 Ealing Half Marathon are Alzheimer’s Society and Cancer Research UK.

The 2018 Ealing Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 30th September and discounted early bird entries are available until 31st January 2018, costing £38 (affiliated) or £40 (unaffiliated). Prices then rise on 1st February to £44 (affiliated) or £46 (unaffiliated), and again on 1st August to £48 (affiliated) or £50 (unaffiliated).
