Two-time state champion Seth Gross of Apple Valley has committed to attend the University of Iowa and wrestle for the Hawkeyes following his senior season.
Gross is a two-time Minnesota state champion. He won the 132-pound Class AAA state championship this past season as a junior. He won the 120-pound title as a sophomore and placed third at 103 pounds as a freshman.
Gross has also had great success in USA Wrestling competition. He was a Junior National freestyle champion this past summer at 132 pounds. Gross is a two-time Cadet National freestyle champion, winning titles at 113 pounds in 2011 and 126 in 2012.
He currently has a 105-13 high school record and is the 33rd-ranked Class of 2014 recruit by InterMat. He is projected to wrestle at 133 or 141 pounds in college.
