UFC Middleweight prospect Cathal Pendred is talking like he’s the one who “won the lottery” by getting to be the first opponent in the UFC for former WWE Superstar CM Punk.

The Irish star and Ultimate Fighter season 19 semi-finalist posted a photo of Punk on social media with a caption that read, “This punk is going to be ‘one & done’ in the UFC. It looks like I will be that one. #JustWonTheLottery.”

He also posted a suggestion to the UFC on how to book the fight, claiming it would be a perfect co-main event at Croke Park Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, under a potential UFC Featherweight Championship bout between current champion Jose Aldo and rising contender “The Notorious” Conor McGregor.

Obviously, McGregor must first get past Dennis Siver at UFC Fight Night 59 in Boston, Mass. on January 18th, a show that Pendred is also fighting on, as he is set to square off against Sean Spencer on the undercard.

Whether or not this is wishful thinking on the part of Pendred, or if he knows something we don’t, remains to be seen.
