Due to an undisclosed minor injury, the Diaz vs. Leon Edwards co-main event for this Saturday’s UFC 262 has been pushed back to June 12th’s UFC 263. The fight was to be a five round affair, but it’s unknown if that will still be the case next month.
UFC 263, set for Glendale, Arizona, is headlined by middleweight Israel Adesanya vs. Marvin Vettori II and flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno II.
This was to be Diaz’s first fight since losing to Jorge Masvidal for the ceremonial BMF title at November 2019’s UFC 244. He has two fights remaining on his contract. Edwards returned after nearly 18 months of inactivity and had a short no contest with Belal Muhammad in March after he accidentally eye-poked Muhammad.
This Saturday’s main event is Charles Oliveira vs. Michael Chandler for the vacant lightweight title. It’s assumed Tony Ferguson vs. Beneil Dariush will be the new co-main event.
