For the fourth consecutive week, viewership for Monday Night RAW fell to a brand new low. This week’s show was watched by just 2,194,000 people, failing to crack 2.5 million fans for the seventh week in a row.

The hope for Monday’s show was that viewership would start strong in the first hour hold steady throughout the night, as fans would theoretically want to tune in for Seth Rollins defending the Intercontinental Championship in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs match, something that almost never happens on free TV.

Instead, the first hour of the show started 2,347,000 viewers (higher than last week, but the second lowest of the year), and dropped by 6.9% in the second hour to 2, 186,000. RAW dropped again in the third hour to 2,048,000, down another 6.3%.

While it’s difficult to say exactly why WWE’s plan to offer such an intriguing main event backfired, it probably didn’t help that the very first segment of the night was a 15-minute promo in which Seth Rollins accurately trashed Monday Night RAW and excessively reminded the fans how terrible the show they’re watching truly is.
